Messerschmitt Me262 is the worlds first jet fighter put into service. The Luftwaffe officially named it Swallow, while the Allied pilots called it Storm Bird. With its advanced performance, the aircraft occupies an extremely important position in the history of World War II fighter jets. The Me262 led the development direction of fighter jets after the war and far into the future. Me262 carried out her first test flight in 1941. It was mass produced and entered military service in April 1944. During the war, all models of the Me-262 family produced more than 1,400 aircraft.
