PZO9041 The Thousand Fangs Below - Serpents Skull 5 of 6 - Adventure Path 41 by Paizo Publishing
Chapter 5 The Thousand Fangs Below
The heroes explore the lost underground serpentfolk city of Ilmurea only to discover that it is not nearly as abandoned as they had thought. Feral descendants of the original Azlanti inhabitants of the surface City of Seven Spears have degenerated into subterranean morlocks, devolving into madness and evil over thousands of years. Malign creatures from throughout the Darklands flock to Ilmurea to prey upon these dwellers, and serpentfolk from around the world flock to Ilmurea, beckoned by the severed head of their slain ophidian god, Ydersius. A grim ritual, already in progress, will use the power of the Serpents Skull to restore the serpentfolk of Golarion to their true, terrible potential, instantly creating a new menace below all the nations of the world. A lost Pathfinder holds the key to disrupting the ritual, but before his plan can be executed he must first be rescued from his underground prison.
A Pathfinder Roleplaying Game adventure for 13th-level characters, this volume continues the highly anticipated Serpents Skull Adventure Path, in which the heroes fight their way through a treacherous jungle to discover and plunder an ancient lost city. This volume contains a wide-ranging gazetteer of the serpentfolk city of Ilmurea, with tips for expanding the location to enrich the campaign. An overview of Nethys, god of magic, by Sean K Reynolds, provides new insight on one of Golarion+s most important deities. Plus five new monsters in the Pathfinder Bestiary, new fiction in the Pathfinder Journal, and much more!
Pathfinder Adventure Path is Paizo Publishings monthly 96-page, perfect-bound, full-color softcover book printed on high-quality paper. It contains an in-depth Adventure Path scenario, stats for about a half-dozen new monsters, and several support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their campaign. Pathfinder Adventure Path volumes use the Open Game License and work with both the Pathfinder RPG and the standard 3.5 fantasy RPG rules set.
